In order to listen to our podcast, you'll need a "Podcast Client," which is simply a program that lets you subscribe to and manage podcasts. Many of these are free, including Apple's iTunes and the popular Juice. Others can be found here.
A podcast is a syndication of multimedia presentations (interviews, video clips, radio shows) that you can either watch on a website, or alternately subscribe to using a "Podcast Client" program that will watch for new episodes and automatically download them for you so you can watch them at your leisure.
You can also download the podcast to your MP3 player to listen and/or watch on the go. You'll need to look at the manual for your particular MP3 player for instructions on how to do so.
An MP3 is an audio file, and a MOV is a video file. Both of them have been compressed to reduce their size while maintaining their original quality. This makes downloading the file much faster.
First, you need to download and install the right software to subscribe to a podcast. Once you’ve downloaded the software, you can subscribe to the Buckeye Institute's podcast.
If you use iTunes, right-click the "POD" icon to copy the shortcut. On an Apple computer, hold down "Ctrl" and click the "POD" icon to copy the shortcut. Then paste the copied URL into your Podcast application. In iTunes, select the "advanced" menu, and then choose "open stream."
Once you’ve downloaded the podcast software, it will automatically check to see whether we have added new material to our podcast, and will then automatically download the latest updates for viewing at any time.
